Deer Cooler Trailer

This was a learning experience. We had re-tooled our shop to manufacture 6'x8' walk-in coolers. Our friends at KJ Enterprises custom built the Trailers to put them on.

We modded the condensing unit to mount on the front of the box to reduce height. The system is 115v, and runs off of a regular outlet. The door and door frame are made of UMHW plastic (cutting board material).

We made two, when it was decided that the glue didn't adhere well on the panel fabrications (foam to metal). After 3-4 years, the refrigeration is still running trouble-free. The door material didn't hold up too well after a few years on one unit that I observe occassionally, but due to the special application of temperature control - the door ajar will not cause failure due to absolute positive coil defrosting. The discrepancy could have been avoided with truck rated hardware/closures.

The "defective" units were sold at below production cost. One is still in service at a Deer camp - the other is still in service with a local Caterer.
