Soap Tunnels - Surrey Soap Factory - Leander, Texas

Absolutely the most impressive project we have ever endeavored - Soap cooling tunnels for the Surrey Soap Factory in Leander Texas.

We built two 30' long tunnels, and the next year added three 40' long tunnels. The glycerin soap entered in hot liquid form into molds, and came out the other end, cooled and fully formed. The refrigerating capacity was calculated by Austin Industrial Refrigeration in review of the temperatures and specific gravity of the soap solution. Also, system balance was established for low humidities in order to not affect the finished soap product.

One mile of copper was run for 13 condensing units and all work was maticulously scheduled as the plant was in full operation during the work, which spanned three months for total fabrication and installation for the second order of three tunnels.

Due to the special height requirement of 5' high tunnel walls, our custom fabrication of the insulated panels was highly cost effective. Unlike the Deer Cooler panels which we had adhesion problems, the 140+ panels produced for these projects were flawless.
